How I Use AI in My Coaching Practice

A quiet, naturally lit scene representing the considered use of AI in coaching practice.

I believe in being upfront about this. The thinking, voice and 26+ years of experience on this site are all mine. I use AI to help me shape and share them. It never replaces me or the coaching itself.

What I use AI for

  • Refining the branding of coaching handouts I have developed over the last 26+ years
  • Refining written communication like emails, resources and blog posts (particularly helpful given my dyslexia and dyscalculia)
  • Generating ideas for coaching handouts, tools and resources
  • Summarising session notes using an AI notetaker (only with your consent)
  • Refining social media content
  • Managing the back-end of my website

All coaching content, decisions and reflections come from me. AI helps me communicate more clearly and spend less time on admin. It does not write for me or replace my thinking.

As a solo practitioner doing everything myself, AI also helps me keep costs down. I do not need to hire a VA.

Your data stays private

I follow GDPR requirements and ICF ethical standards. I do not paste identifiable client information into AI chat tools. Any AI that has access to my systems for site management operates under the same confidentiality standards. Session summary tools are optional and require your consent. Session summaries are stored securely and used only by me for session follow-up.

The coaching is always human

The thinking, the listening and the relationship are always fully human. An AI notetaker may be running during a session to transcribe and summarise, only with your consent. I will ask before our first session and you can change your mind at any time. It never shapes or directs the coaching. My approach aligns with the ICF Code of Ethics and the ICF AI Coaching Standards and Practical Guide (2025).
