How Your Brain Works

Five small terracotta pots holding varied succulents lined up on a sunlit windowsill with a soft garden view beyond.

What this is

How Your Brain Works is a free snapshot of your executive function, the set of mental skills that get things started, keep them going, and help you adapt along the way.

It looks at five areas, Activation & Follow-Through, Focus & Attention, Planning & Organisation, Adaptability, and Self-Management, and the fourteen skills inside them. One question at a time, in plain language, with no jargon and no timer.

What you will get

A personal picture of where you are naturally strong and where things take more effort right now. Strengths first, on purpose, because they are the ground everything else stands on. In words, never numbers, and private to you. If you like, a copy lands in your inbox to keep.

Why I made this

Most of us with ADHD or AuDHD have spent years being measured against other people. What almost nobody gives us is a clear, kind picture of our own brain on its own terms. That is what this is. It comes from coaching adults with ADHD and AuDHD since 2000.

Want the full picture?

If your snapshot leaves you wanting more, the Executive Function Strength Profile is the full instrument: ten questions about each of the fourteen skills, in five chapters that save as you go, and a comprehensive, deeply personal written report that is yours to keep.

Common questions

Click on a question to reveal the answer.

Who is this for?

Adults with ADHD or AuDHD, whether formally diagnosed, self-identifying, or still working it out. It suits anyone curious about how their brain starts things, holds focus, plans ahead, adapts and manages energy.

Is this a test or a diagnosis?

Neither. It is a self-awareness snapshot, written in plain words rather than scores. It cannot diagnose ADHD or anything else, and you do not need a diagnosis for it to be useful. If you want a clinical answer, that conversation belongs with your GP.

What happens to my answers?

They are used to build your personal picture, and they stay private to you. If you choose, a copy of your results lands in your inbox so you can keep it. You will not be signed up to anything without asking.

How is this different from the Executive Function Strength Profile?

This snapshot is the quick sketch: a couple of questions for each of the five areas, a few minutes, free. The Executive Function Strength Profile is the full instrument: ten questions about each of the fourteen skills and a comprehensive, deeply personal written report. It costs £69, and if you later join one of my private coaching programmes, the full £69 comes off the price.

This is a self-report snapshot, not a clinical assessment and not a diagnosis. It is an independent self-awareness tool, written in Linda’s own words.
